Stocking Stuffers

As we wait to see whether or not we will be able to travel back to see family and friends this week (like everyone else in the midwest right now due to the weather), we decided to post a few pictures from Christmas. Last Sunday, Shannon's mom was able to come out to watch Grant for the week while his school was closed for Christmas. He and his Gigi had a fun time playing.
Although she was supposed to fly back to Tulsa on Christmas Eve, her flight ended up being cancelled due to the blizzard that was hitting Oklahoma. Luckily we were able to get her on an early morning flight on Christmas morning. After we got back from the airport, Grant opened up his presents. He actually did a pretty good job of grabbing a hold of the torn paper and tearing it off himself.
We hope that everyone had a wonderful, white Christmas! Hopefully I-70 will open up soon and we can get on our way. If you haven't received our Christmas card yet, then it should be there soon, but here are a few out-takes from the photo shoot that we thought were funny.
Is he taking the picture himself?

All I want for Christmas...

Like many families, December has historically been one of the busier months for us. This year we've had our usual amount of holiday parties, shopping, and gift wrapping, however now we have another person who has added an extra set of all of those same activities to our plate. In addition, we've put added pressure on ourselves by trying to refinance our home, so there have been more paperwork and calls than normal (but hopefully it will be worth it, so keep your fingers crossed).

So we're just going to post some more pictures and a video and get back to wrapping...

Mouth Madness

It's been another busy week, which makes me wonder... is busy the new norm? This time of year used to be all about kicking back with a Fat Tire while watching KU basketball. Now, we find ourselves "watching" the KU game at the same time as we put together a high chair and the Christmas tree, all while checking the monitor religiously in hopes that Grant is still asleep in his crib!

We cannot get over the fact that he looks like SUCH a big boy in his high chair!

Grant hit another milestone this weekend when he tried his first veggie ...peas. Yum! He seemed to enjoy them for lunch on Sunday.

However, turns out he was a little bit fussy that night, so we were not sure how much his tummy liked them. On Monday night, he wasn't too interested in eating the peas and actually gagged a couple of time when we gave him some (we of course stopped trying after that). Then again on Tuesday night he didn't want to eat the peas, but this time we noticed something else in his mouth... a tooth! Yep, it's true Grant has a small white cap sticking up on his lower gums. Fun times are ahead..

We also took this video of Grant laughing and playing in his new exersaucer. Thought you might enjoy...he sure did!
