In a month that got off to a fantastic start, it ended in a Shaka of a loss. This year the Second and Third rounds (don't get me started about how it actually is the First and Second rounds) of the NCAA basketball tournament were held in Denver. I was so excited when I found this out that I bought tickets 10 months ago for us and our friends, the March's. We saw 2 exciting games in the first session, including a buzzer beater upset, and caught a case of Jimmer fever (a BYU mutant strain of Bieber fever) watching a guy who had to be guarded as soon as he crossed half-court. Long story short, it was a great time, but it was a lot of basketball, especially considering KU wasn't playing here.
A cruel irony was that KU ended up in Tulsa (and played Illinois - the March's alma mater) where we would have had a few of the best babysitters and Shannon could have gone to all of the games, but that is just one of the many lessons I learned from this whole experience (first and foremost, don't buy tickets 10 months in advance, even if they claim that it is "sold out").
Anyway, as most of you already know this March Madness story does not have a happy ending for me. Kansas had a seemingly easy path to the Final 4 and blew it. I don't want to talk about it, but looking back I think Shannon took a funny picture during the infamous game. Here's Grant and I before the VCU game:
Here we are at some point in the game:
Luckily we had Grant to cheer us up and as Shannon says (and I think that she is actually serious), "It's just a game". So here's what the people want and what makes us happy, some pictures of our growing little boy.
