It costs what?!
Last weekend there was an open house for a new childcare facility opening in March that is just down the street from where we live, so we thought that we would check it out. It's called The Goddard School and it sounds like it is going to be an amazing facility that is safe and will provide lots of stimulating interaction for the little one. However, we (OK, at least David) had a little sticker shock when we found out that it would cost over $1000 a month for full time child care. I guess that's what we get for being naive first time parents. Upon looking into it more, it seems that this is actually the norm these days. We have some time to look at other places, but we've got good news... we just saved a bunch of money on our car insurance.

I'd be happy to cut you a deal and only charge you, say, $950 a month AND I could provide a 1:1 caregiver to child ratio. The only hiccup is figuring out drop-off and pick-up, but those are just small details. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the childcare search!
Come on Dave! Only $1000 to "make a positive difference in your child's life"? Its better than the alternatives, like putting your kid in a dog carrier, tying him to a stake in the backyard, or letting him roam the mean streets of Aurora. I think its money well spent.
