Quite a bit has been going on in our (and especially Grant's) world in an attempt to get ready for little boy two. Unfortunately this has not left much time for the blog which results in a lengthy post, but better late than never I guess so here is what's new with us.
Huge accomplishment number one for our big boy is that he is well on his way to being completely potty trained. Over Labor Day weekend, both Shannon and I had three days off so we spent the entire 72 hours very close to our downstairs bathroom. We used a method that includes getting rid of all the diapers, explaining to him that we use the potty when we need to go to the bathroom, loading him up with fluids, putting him in big boy underwear and wearing no pants. After a few accidents, it is supposed to click. The first day went exactly as you would expect, 7-8 accidents and 1-2 times in the potty. The next day was better and by the third he was down to about 1 accident. He's done pretty well at school but we learned that we need to take several pairs of clothes just in case. Also we finally caved and decided to use pull-ups for now at nap time and bedtime because we were tired of doing laundry every couple of days. We feel like he has been doing very well so far and are so proud of him.

This month we also got to go to a Touch a Truck event with some friends of ours. We went out for breakfast at
Snooze with old friends and new Coloradoans Todd, Erin, and Alex before heading over to the event where we met up with Chris, Jen, Andrew and the newest addition to the March's, Evan.

The other monumental act was moving Grant into his big boy room. He is now occupying what used to be our office. So after moving everything out of that room, I painted it a blue-gray color, then Shannon and I put together his twin bed and dresser. It still needs a few things moved over from his old room (which is the future room of his little brother), but has been good enough to sleep in for the last couple of weeks. He has done extremely well at night but struggled a bit at nap time. We'll post more pictures once the room is complete.

Then last weekend we went with Erica, Darren, and Lily to the pumpkin patch at Nick's. We like going there because not only are we able to take our annual pumpkin pictures, but they always have lots of activities for the kids.

| Of course, the first thing he had to do when we got there was go see the school bus! |

We are down to just short of one month before the addition of our little one. We are all excited for his arrival and pretty much ready. We are going to be taking a sibling class with Grant soon to help him grasp what is about to happen. And no, we do not have the name picked out yet. If you ask me I will tell you Chamberlain, Manning, or some other name that has got little chance of actually being the name. In other words, don't ask. It is hard to believe that is so close.
