We were hoping to get this post up before last weekend, but unfortunately it was just too busy around here getting ready for our trip back to Tulsa for Valerie's wedding. Those stories deserve their own post, so here is what was going on before then.
The Denver Zoo recently opened a new area for its Asian animals called the
Toyota Elephant Passage and so we got tickets to the preview before it opened to the public. It has some pretty cool features like a bridge where the elephants can cross above you and a boardwalk where there are no visible barriers and gibbons can swing overhead as they go to another island.

Then, speaking of elephants, I was driving to work after Memorial Day and I saw 5 elephants at a horse arena near our house. It turned out that a
circus was setting up for 2 days. I took Grant to the early show the following day. I was so excited when we got there and found a spot right on the front row close to where all of the performers would be coming out. Unfortunately, Grant didn't care for all of the noise so we had to move after intermission, but other than that I think that he had a good time.

And finally on the Grant front, I caught this picture of Grant playing T-ball at school. I continue to be amazed at how well he is doing at all of the activities, at least for a 2 1/2 year old.

And we cannot forget that we had a half birthday recently, Reid is now 6 months old! With that of course was his 6 month well baby check-up. It seems that he is following in his big brother's small footprints. His weight was 15 lbs 3 oz (10.5%), his height was 25.2 in (9.6%), and his head was in the 27th percentile. And no, he is not sleeping through the night yet. He is however getting much better at eating solids, so maybe we can get that weight up. He is now rolling over both ways and maneuvering his way around all over the floor - although he hasn't yet figured out how to get his knees underneath himself (but is sure trying). He is also busy "talking" and blowing raspberries. Grant continues to be a great big brother and enjoys playing with Reid.
