Party time!

So much has happened in the last few weeks that it seems like a blur. After Shannon's parents left a few weekends ago, we got ready again for more visitors. Two of Shannon's classmates from Grad School were in town for a little reunion. After 5 years, they enjoyed being tourists again in Denver.

The next weekend I had to work and then spent the rest of the time finishing my Capstone project for the final class of my Master's program this last Wednesday. You read that right, I am now DONE with my Masters of Health Administration! The graduation is not until the beginning of June, but I was not going to wait that long to celebrate. Some of my classmates got together for a party last Friday where Grant was of course the life of the party.

Then on Saturday, one of Grant's friends from school, Mason, had his first birthday party. The party was at Gymboree where they had all kinds of cool things for the kids to do. Grant was the youngest one there so he wasn't playing as much as some of the other kids. Plus on the first activity, he fell over and bumped his mouth when he had to crawl up stairs, so he wasn't in the best mood for a while.
Moments before "the incident"

As soon as they got the bubbles and bells out though, he was suddenly feeling much better.

Thumbs up to the party

Other things going on in Grant's world: His 5th tooth is coming in. For some reason he has had much more trouble with this tooth than the others. He's just a little bit fussy and also had the worst diaper rash that he's ever had. I had no idea that diaper rash could be connected to a tooth coming in, but several people at work have told me otherwise.

Also he is now standing all by himself for about 10-15 seconds. Sometimes he gets really excited and will clap, which is one of his new favorite things to do (he's also a fan of giving high 5's).

In the next few weeks, Grant has a lot of things going on. At the end of the month we will be moving to the next class at school. Since he is the only one that is mobile in the infant room and because most of his friends are in the other room, we are all for it. Also starting next weekend, Grant and Shannon will start swimming class. It will be on Saturdays for the next 5 weeks and I am sure there will be pictures.

Finally, here's a video of Grant rockin' out.
