Anyway here is some of the fun things that we did recently:
In recognition of Earth Day, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science had a free day for all Colorado residents. We assumed that it would be packed, so we went early and made our way through most of the museum. The highlight for Grant was seeing the "dinosaur bones", which he talked about for days afterwards.

April also brought the first time that we had to work on homework for Grant. During the "Week of the Young Child" at Grant's school, we had to cover a cut-out picture of a child with items that describe him. So Shannon and I went through magazines and found words and pictures that were all about Grant... the night before it was due naturally. I think that it turned out pretty well.
The Friday night of Easter weekend the whole family was lucky enough to attend a concert. There is a group called Yo' Mamas & Papas that rocks out to kid favorites. We met the March and the Gibbons families there and had a great time listening to songs and dancing around. Grant was all over the place breaking out every dance move that I've taught him. He also seemed to be mesmerized by the saxophone/keyboard player.
Since I had to work on Easter weekend, we had to be a little more creative with how we handled the big Easter egg "hunt" and Easter basket. Once I got home, I took Grant up to his room while Shannon "hid" his Easter basket in the kitchen. Then she put eggs (some sports themed!) from the kitchen, through the living room, and up the stairs leading to his room. Grant was a little confused on what he was supposed to do at first, but quickly caught on that the eggs were supposed to go into his basket. He made his way down the stairs and collected each one until he made it to his Easter basket.

Later that day, we were lucky enough to have our friends Erica and Darren, come over with their new little one, Lily, to have Easter dinner. It was a wonderful end to a fantastic weekend.

I'm going to say the same thing to you that annoying people say to me... But how could you get frustrated with someone so cute??!? He's just perfect! How could that little angel do anything wrong?
ReplyDeleteThe next person who says that to me wins a 72 hour getaway with a feisty 19 month old.
You know I have to take issue with the gratuitous Duke comment, right? I know we're all still bitter about the NCAAs, but there's no need to hit below the belt.
All joking aside, I completely feel your pain with the toddler attitude and I hope that our adorable, little tantrum-throwers get their acts together ASAP!
