Two and the Zoo!

Grant has a little trouble putting up 2 fingers on one hand

Two?! REALLY?! It is incredibly hard for us to believe that Grant turned 2 two weeks ago.  The weekend before our little guy had his birthday, we had a few people over to celebrate with a barbeque.  Much like last year, we had sliders, brats, homemade ice cream and a cake that Shannon made that included small chocolate donuts.  However this year, Grant was much more active playing in his new sand and water table, hitting the T-ball, and running around the backyard.  Here’s a couple pictures of the celebration.

Shannon’s parents were able to come out to visit Grant for his birthday party weekend and week.  He had a lot of fun playing with Gigi and Papa in the park near our house, getting pushed around on his new tricycle, and splashing in his new sand and water table.  We also got to make a trip to the zoo one day.  It was quite a bit different than our last trip to the zoo a while ago where Grant seemed more interested in watching people than looking at the animals.

Grant then got to celebrate again at school on his actual birthday.  His favorite part, besides wearing the cool birthday hat, was singing Happy Birthday.  He kept saying, "one more time" at the end of the song.  We took in a fruit tray and juice boxes for all of his classmates to share for his party.  His birthday was also a little bit of a promotion celebration because the next day he moved up to the next class, the Flying Frogs.
