5 months

It is crazy to think that our little boy is 5 months old!  It is equally unbelievable that Grant is turning out to be quite the philosopher, at least that is what we assume... or it could just be that he is going through his "cause why?" phase.

A few weekends ago, Shannon went back to Tulsa with Reid for Valerie's bridal shower.  It was a very short trip, but along with the shower she was able to go through a trial wedding day hair run, see her good friends Sara and Megan, and pass Reid around for lots of snuggles.

While Reid was getting TLC in Tulsa, Grant and I were doing whatever we could to get out of the house.  On Saturday, we went to the Zoo where the highlight definitely was watching the gorilla chow down on some food very closely to the glass.  On Sunday, we met up with the March boys for donuts and then checked out the Wildlife Experience Museum in Parker.  Even though it isn't too far from us, it was our first time.  It was a nice mix of exhibits plus hands on activities.  Once the boys get a little older it will probably be a place we go more often.

Last weekend we made a trip downtown to the Art Student League of Denver because Valerie had some ceramic pieces in their exhibit titled "delecTABLE: The Fine Art of Dining".  It was incredibly cool to see Val's amazing work.  It has been fun to watch her artistic style develop over the years.

The funniest thing happened when we first got there. Shannon went straight over to see the first table while I glanced around and nearly had a heart attack when I noticed how many breakable ceramics were there.  We both quickly turned to look for Grant, but lucky for us he wasn't getting into any trouble.  In fact he was sitting on the ground by the front door... taking his shoes off!  We raced over to tell him, before anyone noticed, that he didn't need to take off his shoes.  I'm not sure why he decided he needed his shoes off.  Maybe it was the grand staircase that made him think we were at someone's house, or maybe he just wanted to get comfortable, but whatever the reason it had me chuckling for a few days.

Afterwards we treated ourselves to some ice cream at Licks while we were still downtown.  Grant was in heaven eating his strawberry ice cream, seeing that he doesn't usually get dessert.  Yum!
